The Book

Aucassin and Nicolete - 1899 - A Love Story translated from the old French by Andrew Lang. Done into a Book by the Roycrofters at the Roycroft Shop, which is in East Aurora, New York, mdcccxcix.
940 copies were printed on Roycroft handmade and watermarked paper and bound in suede. Twelve copies were printed on handmade vellum. One copy is known to have been bound full Levant. The illuminated printed initials are hand colored. A variant of 100 of those copies had some other illumination by Clara Schlegel and is numbered.
